E-mail activity was generated via workflow rule that is triggered by the business object ticket. However, the "Associated Ticket" field is blank for this e-mail activity generated.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Activity work center;
- Go to E-mails view;
- Search for E-mail 123 (123 represents the e-mail ID);
- The field Associated Ticket is blank.
Whenever an e-mail activity is created through workflow rule, the reference to the source object ( Ticket/Opportunity/Leads...) for which the rule was executed is never created.
This is the system expected behavior.
The functionality of e-mails sent via workflow rules have the source object ID is planned to be made available in a higher release. At this point in time, we are not in a position to provide more accurate information on date and/or timelines for this future release.
