2502994 - Report Shows Asterisk (*)

You are running a report but for some key figures (or in the result line), you see an asterisk (*) instead of the appropriate value.

1. Open the report from the assigned work center.
2. Via the Settings, add the required key figures or a result line.

You notice that some lines display * instead of the actual value.

The asterisk is shown due to different currencies or units of measure. For example, if you have opportunities in different currencies for the same account, and you only display the Account as a characteristic in the report view, the system tries to aggregate the key figure values of all opportunities for this account. However, if there are different currencies, these values cannot be aggregated, e.g. 100 EUR + 100 USD cannot be aggregated to 200 since this would be a wrong value.

This is the correct behaviour. You can make use of one of the following workarounds:

1. You can use the selection to convert currencies so that the aggregation can take place. In some reports for example, you can use the variable Display Currency to show all values in the same currency. In this case please make sure you maintain currency exchange rates in your system.
2. Alternatively, you can add additional fields to the report view so that you see each value separately, with the respective currency / unit of measure. In this example, you can add the field Opportunity in addition to the Account to see the separate values for each opportunity. This way, no aggregation will take place and each value will be shown separately with the corresponding currency.
