2500486 - Live Connection fails in SAP Analytics Cloud

Symptom

This KBA relates to the legacy version LUC 2.x only. It is heavily recommended to upgrade to LUC 3.x for Full Support and for a much simpler deployment process.

 

  • Below errors are observed while creating a Live Connection in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

           Firefly Error: Error [Protocol]: (#73) Error [Protocol]: (#403)
           HTTP Status 403 – Forbidden
           Status Report
           Message CSRF nonce validation failed
           Description The server understood the request but refuses to authorize it.
           Apache Tomcat/8.5.13
           Error [Protocol]: (#50) Cannot fetch csrf token from serv

           "Firefly Error: Error [Protocol]: (#73) Error [Protocol]: (#401) Unauthorized" in SAP Analytics Cloud (BOC)

Also, in some cases when opening an existing model, firefly 1005 error is observed.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud
  • SAP Live Universe Connect 2.x

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Connect to SAP Analytics Cloud tenant via reverse proxy
  2. Create a Live Data Connection to SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence / SAP Universe specifying Connection Type = Path
  3. From the Main Menu click "Create > Model"
  4. Click "Use a datasource" then "Live Data Connection"
  5. Log on if prompted
  6. Notice the error

Cause

Cause 1

  • Due to an outdated Chrome version.

Cause 2

  • This issue is caused by incorrect reverse proxy configuration.

Resolution

Solution 1

  • Update the Chrome version to the most recent version if it the errors are due to an outdated Chrome version else if it is due to incorrect reverse proxy configuration then please follow Solution 2

  • Correct reverse proxy configuration for Live Universe Connectivity installed at https://mybihost:8443/sap/boc/ina
