2497093 - More Than 3 Years Open, Creation of Future Fiscal Year not Permitted When Opening New Fiscal Year

You are trying to open a new fiscal year in your company but system will not allow as the error message appears 'More than 3 years open, creation of future fiscal year is not permitted'.

To create a New Fiscal Year

1. Go to the General Ledger work center.
2. Go to the Sets of Books and Assigned Companies view.
3. Press Edit Fiscal Years button.
4. Press New Fiscal Year button.

Error message is raised: 'More than 3 years open, creation of future fiscal year is not permitted'.

In SAP Business ByDesign it is not allowed to keep more than 3 fiscal years open.

You need to close at least one previous year in order to be able to open another fiscal year. To close the fiscal year, you can refer to Help Document 'Closing Activities - Year-End Closing' available at the Help Center of your system.
