2483375 - Proxy Data Report

Symptom

  • You have proxy assignments set in Admin Center > Proxy Management and you want to create a report
  • What data is available in the Proxy Report Adhoc/ORD?
  • How to create a report about the proxy assignment?

As confirmed by engineering team in INC1976865, We are currently not supporting the "Security and Proxy Data Report". To retrieve this proxy data, customer should be using the SAC report or the Security Permissions report.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

  • What data is available in the Proxy Report Adhoc/ORD?

Security & Proxy Data domain from Live Data (Ad Hoc / Detailed Reporting in ORD) and "Proxy Management" domain from "Admin Center > Security Permission Report" provide information only of proxy assignments from Admin Center > Proxy Management.

Important Notes:

  1. These reports do not provide information of how long an user had proxied for, when or what she / he did in the system as proxy.
  2. Proxies assigned through Proxy Import (Admin Tools > Manage Employees > Proxy Import) can be reported only through the Security Permissions report.
The Ad Hoc reports will not fetch this data.
i.e. If you do not have proxy assignments set in Admin Center > Proxy Management, the Ad Hoc reports will be blank.

The "User Name" column is the proxy target user and the "Proxy User Name" is the user who proxy on behalf other users.

We can see that the User Name "paswin" is the target proxy user set in Proxy Management for the Proxy User Name "sfadmin":

And the report shows that the Proxy User Name "sfadmin" has permission to proxy for all users in Proxy Management:

Also there is a column named "Report Permission".
If your instance has RBP enabled this column is not relevant and if you select it the report will be blank:

If you need to generate reports on RBP-specific permissions/roles/groups you can use the RBP domains available.

The Adhoc "RBP permission to user" can show the information of Proxy Management provided in RBP (it's necessary to filter the "Permission" column to Proxy Management and the target population comes from the RBP role).
See reference KBA 2089542 about that.

However if your instance still has classic permissions you will be able to get data from "Report Permission" column.
