The aim of the SAP Knowledge Base Article is to explain about the performance implications that can be cause by increasing the parameter resultMaxRowAllowed to a very high value.
SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions
Reproducing the Issue
Navigate to SAP LMS -> System Admin -> Configuration -> System Configuration -> Open the Search configuration -> amend the resultMaxRowAllowed parameter value (default is 2000).
- The default value (2000) is the standard and is considered as the best practice for the resultMaxRowAllowed parameter.
- Note that if a higher value is provided, there are chances of issues like delay in getting the file, timeout issues on the application end etc. as the data has to be fetched from the server /database. As no two servers are the same, this is a decision that needs to be carefully taken by the LMS Admin taking into consideration all the above mentioned aspects.
- The best option if using this to see a general list of users is to run the Account Data report.
- Another option is to use the PRD tool to create a custom report for this requirement and use this to fetch the required data from the database for end users. For more information on the PRD tool, check: https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SAPSF/Using+Plateau+Report+Designer and SAP KBA 2318900 - Plateau Report Designer (PRD) version 220.127.116.11.
