2459083 - Cannot update Account Owner via Data Migration Tool

Symptom

Error while updating Account Owner via Data Migration Tool:

Please assign party role Employee Responsible – Sales only once

Reproducing the Issue

1. Go to Business Configuration work center

2. Select Overview view

3. Search for Migration of Customers.

4. Select Migration Mode: Modify already exisiting records.

5. Update only Account Owner and with entry Party Role XXX(where XXX represents Party Role) .

 Above error is thrown.

Cause

The mapping of the Account ID : YYY(where YYY represents Account ID) is maintained as ZZZ (where ZZZ represents Account ID) at Convert Value Step.
This throws error as ZZZ already has an Owner assigned.

Resolution

If the changes are required in Account ZZZ, then you have to proceed and delete the Owner data for ZZZ and modify via import.
But if you wish to change the Account ID:YYY, you need to map this correctly in the Migration Tool at step Convert Value and proceed further for modifications.
You can also update the Account Direct Responsibility Owner via Mass Data Maintainence.
