How to download Lumira?

SAP Lumira can be downloaded via SAP Software Download Center, navigate:

  1. Software Downloads
  2. By Alpabetical Index (A-Z), and select 'L'
  3. On the list, below can be selected:
    • SAP LUMIRA - for SAP BusinessObjects Lumira, desktop edition
    • SAP LUMIRA SERVER FOR BIPLATFM - for SAP BusinessObjects Lumira Server for BI Platform
    • SAP LUMIRA SERVER FOR TEAMS - for SAP BusinessObjects Lumira Server for BI Platform

How to manage Lumira licenses?

In SAP BusinessObjects Lumira, standard edition and SAP BusinessObjects Lumira, desktop edition, the license key generated for a given license type can be used to activate any number of Lumira desktop client installations.

  • As of Lumira 1.X, there is no central registry communicating with Lumira client applications and controlling the usage of license keys
  • It is the responsibility of a customer to follow best practices in auditing and license key management within the company, aiming to assure that the license agreement terms are followed

Once used, the license key information is encrypted and stored locally, in hilo_license.properties file, which (by default) can be found in C:\Users\Public\sapvi folder

  • Due to encoding of the key, once applied, it is impossible to retreive the license key which has been used to activate the application
  • The license key file generated will be unique for each installation, as such it is impossible to successfully copy the hilo_license.properties file from one workstation to another

It is possible to include the Lumira license key in a silent install for a mass roll-out, and to avoid having to input it manually for every installation.
