2438461 - Items Not Show Up on User's Learning Plan when Admin User assigned it for multiple times within the same day

Symptom

Admin User assigned an Item to a User and the User completed it.

After that, If Admin User assigns the same Item to the user again within the same day, the User cannot find the item showing up on his/her Learning Plan.

Environment

SF-LMS b1605 and above

Reproducing the Issue

For example,

Step 1) User completed the Item on Feb 17

Step 2) Admin or Supervisor assigns the Item on Feb 17

Step 3) User cannot find the Item showing on the Learning Plan

Cause

This is because the option "Grant Credit for events completed the day before assignment date" under LMS>System Admin>Configuration>Global Variables is Enabled.
The below section describes the system behavior with this option ON or OFF.

Resolution

The explanation of the option is described in help document.

SAP SuccessFactors Learning provides the option to allow users who have completed an assignment within 24 hours of a new assignment to get credit. This can be turned on using a new setting Start of the navigation path System Admin Next navigation step Configuration Next navigation step Global Variables Next navigation step Grant Credit End of the navigation path for events completed the day before assignment date. If you have users in multiple time zones, then Grant Credit for Events Completed the Day before Assignment Date is useful for you. Without it, when the assigner is a day ahead of the assignee, completions would not grant credit for the assignment because of time and date conversion.

Below is the system behavior of this option.

  • When the option is turned OFF

          Scenario
Step 1) User completed the Item on Feb 17
Step 2) Admin or Supervisor assigns the Item on Feb 17
          Result:
Item does not go away from the Learning Plan. User can do self assignment as well.

  • When the option is turned ON

          Scenario 1
Step 1) User completed the Item on Feb 17
Step 2) Admin or Supervisor assigns course on Feb 17
          Result:
Item goes away from the Learning Plan as the credit is given.

          Scenario 2
Step 1) User completed the Item on Feb 17
Step 2) User self-assigns the Item Feb 17
          Result:
Item does not go away from the Learning Plan because system considers the user does not want credit as the user wants to take the course one more time.
