2437528 - Not Able to Update the Department and Job for the Employees in Administrator Work Center

Symptom

You require to Update the Employees Department and Job. In the Administrator work center, in the Employees view, on choosing the Department and Job respectively from the Value Help, the fields appear blank.

Environment

SAP Hybris Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Administrator work center
  2. Go to Users view
  3. Go to Employees subview
  4. Select an Employee XYZ (where XYZ represents the Employee)
  5. Select Edit
  6. Fill the fields Department and Job from the respective Value Help
  7. Select Save and Close

To verify the Department and Job in Employees subview

  1. Go to Administrator work center
  2. Go to Users view
  3. Go to Employees subview
  4. Select the Employee XYZ
  5. Select Edit
  6. Department Name and Job fields appear blank

Cause

Department and Job for Employees can be maintained in the Organizational Management work center.

Resolution

To maintain the Department Name and Job, we recommend to use the Organizational Management workcenter.

  1. Go to Organizational Management work center
  2. Go to Org Structures view
  3. Select Advanced
  4. Search for Employee XYZ and Open
  5. In the General tab, go the Details section
  6. Update the Department Name
  7. Go to the tab Employees
  8. Update the Job
  9. Select Save
