Resolution

The same resolution applies for both V12 and People Profile 3

You need to verify that the person creating the Note belongs to a permission group than can do the following:

  • View Notes
  • Create Notes
  • Edit/Insert:Correct:Delete

You can check to ensure that these are checked in Manage Permission Roles:

  1. Go to Admin Center --> Manage Permission Roles
  2. Select the Permission Role you want to verify that opens up the Permission Role Detail Page
  3. Select Permission --> User Permissions --> Gerneral User Permissions
  4. Verify that Permission to Create Notes is checked.
  5. Select Permission --> User Permissions --> Employee Central Effective Dated Entites --> Notes
  6. Verify that these targets are checked:
    1. Edit/Insert
    2. Correct
    3. Delete
  7. After making changes, select 'Done". This directs you back to the Permission Role Detail page.
  8. Select "Save Changes" to finish.

If the User does not have the "Permission to Create Notes", this means that this user doesn't belong to a permission group with access. This can be resolved by adding user to the permission group that has the ability to create notes using Role-based permissions.

For more information about Role-based permissions, please refer to the Role-Based Permissions Administration Guide:
