- In your RCM-EC Transformation Template / ONB-EC Field Mapping Tool, you have defined a mapping to the EC employmentInfo field "start-date".
- This mapping works perfectly for External Hires.
- For Internal Hires, on the other hand, the date in the "When do you want your changes to take effect?" field is always defaulted to today's date
For External Hires, the mapping works because the data is passed over to the "employmentInfo.start-date" field. This is exposed in the Data Model.
For Internal Hires, you are presented with the "When do you want your changes to take effect?" field. This is a hardcoded field in the Internal Hire page; internally it maps to effectiveStartDate field of Job Information. This "effectiveStartDate" field is not exposed in the Data Model, so this cannot be mapped in the Transformation Template / Field Mapping Tool.
This is the current expected system behavior for Internal Hires. For any concerns about this, please see the following Enhancement Request in our Community Portal: https://influence.sap.com/D45246.
