2413011 - Is there data migration functionality for SAP Jam?

Symptom

Is there data migration functionality for SAP Jam?

IE: Our customer wants to replace their legacy IBM system-Quickr, however there are legacy files/folders in Quickr.

Could the customer migrate files/folders to SAP Jam?

Resolution

Depending on the amount of data there are multiple ways on how to do that:

You could do it manually, or use the SAP Jam file sync client. (Available for Advanced Plus and Enterprise editions)

For a big number of documents, we provide APIs that allow customers to migrate data into SAP Jam, for example also including information such as the author of each content item. (Available for Advanced Plus and Enterprise editions)

We aren't allowed to provide migration tools for each specific legacy system. But we provided some sample code on how to use our APIs once you have the data extracted from another system. See here for details: https://github.com/SAP/SAPJamSampleCode/tree/master/jam_java_odata_api_sync_client_sample

Usually our customers also evaluate which of the old content they still need and want to migrate to Jam. Most of the time they are cleaning up their content before the migration.

We've had customers who did such a migration within just a couple of days. If they don't have the required knowledge in-house, they should use SAP consulting or a partner for this.
