2412581 - Avoid 'Exceeding Polling Timeout Threshold' errors with Skillsoft Connector

Symptom

This is a KBA to display how you can increase the polling timeout threshold of the Skillsoft Connector, which interfaces with Web Services to poll from Skillsoft servers to import item content into the LMS.

Increasing the polling timeout threshold will help avoid Skillsoft Connector errors such as "Maximum polling threshold timeout exceeded".

Environment

SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Run Skillsoft Connector
  2. Connector fails due to "Maximum polling threshold timeout exceeded" Error

Cause

Maximum polling threshold timeout is typically exceeded when there is a high volume of data being polled and transferred from Skillsoft and there is a Web Services connection timeout.

Resolution

To avoid Maximum polling threshold timeout errors we can increase the Maximum polling threshold in the Connectors Configuration file.

System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > Connectors

skillsoft.connector.polling.threshold.timeout=10800000 (try increasing to this value or a higher value if needed)
