Resolution

Regarding to your question, yes, it is possible, but you will either have to use a flash streaming server or embed the video in an HTML page so that it will download progressively.

Streaming Video
You can convert your video to a flash video, host that flash video on a flash streaming server and then embed the rtmp link in a swf file. That is one way to stream a video.

The iContent service has a flash streaming server and we can host the flash file for you on that server.

There are many ways to stream a video this site might help: http://www.mediacollege.com/video/streaming/overview.html. The site goes over advantages and disadvantages of different methods.

If you want to use the icontent service, please reach them through the iContent portal and require this service.

FAQ - iContent video streams at an automatic rate adaptive bandwidth?.  i.e. if the user has low bandwidth, will the video stream at the most appropriate quality for the users available bandwidth or will it try to stream at it’s full native quality?

Our current streaming video platform is only available to customers who are subscribed to the iContent Premium (PCM) service.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Self-managed customers do not have access the streaming video platform.

All videos outside of the current streaming service use progressive download to buffer the playback as the file loads.

The current streaming platform does not have any adaptive streaming capabilities, but we are working with Cloud Operations to evaluate a new streaming platform that does offer adaptive streaming. It is on the roadmap but we dont know when it is going to available or if it is going to be soon.
