SAP BusinessObjects Cloud gives "This site can’t provide a secure connection"

  • SAP BusinessObjects Cloud 2016.19.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Configure Apache Reverse Proxy per "Live Data Connection to SAP HANA via Apache HTTP (Simple URLs)"
  2. Use <VirtualHost *:PORT> in Apache to use a port other than 443
  3. Connect to your SAP BusinessObjects Cloud tenant via Apache
  4. Log in
  5. Notice the error

SAP BusinessObjects Cloud makes use of the "Setting Up an Internal Access Point Landscape" functionality in SAP HANA Cloud Platform which requires port 443 to be used.

If using a single SAP BusinessObjects Cloud tenant then use port 443

If using multiple SAP BusinessObjects Cloud tenants then:

  1. Edit your Apache conf file
  2. Use Apache "Name-based Virtual Hosts"
  3. Add DNS or HOSTS file entries for the virtual host names
  4. Access SAP BusinessObjects Cloud via the new virtual host names defined in Apache
