Question on Assignment type for a course in LMS. For some users, the Assignment type is set as "Blank" even though the Assignment type is set as Required for the Course.

Reproducing the Issue
->Search for a course as a user from the catalog.
->Self Assign this course to the learning plan
->Navigate to the admin side to this user record.
->See the Assigned Items for this user.
->The Assignment Type for this item for the user will be blank, even if the Assignment Type at the Item level was set to be Required.
As per Product Management, Self assigned items only have required dates when assigned via a curriculum. Self assignment of free floating items assumes it's optional and thereby does not have a required date and Assignment Type when viewed from the Admin side.
If you would want the Required date and Assignment Type to be set for courses , that are self assigned by the user, you need to have the user self assign the course via a curricula. In other words, the course needs to be added to a curricula and the curricula needs to be present in the user's catalog so that the user can self assign the curricula and hence the courses within it.
