The Colorado Employment Verification law has been repealed by the Colorado General Assembly (House Bill 16-114). This repeal greatly simplifies the new hire process, eliminating duplication of efforts with the Federal Form I-9.
Until August, employers must continue to complete the Colorado Affirmation Form for all newly hired employees between now and August 10, 2016. Additionally, employers should retain the Colorado Affirmation Form for all current employees for as long as they are employed with the organization.
What you need to do if you wish the CO Form not to be presented to New Hires on or after August 10, 2016:
