2343624 - Stop Users from Self Assigning courses from a Catalog

Item has Self Registration Set to "No" and has an Approval Process set to "Yes" yet users are able to search for the Item

SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Logon to LMS User UI
  2. Navigate to Course Catalog
  3. Search for a course
  4. User has option to "Assign to Me" even though self-registration for the Item's Scheduled Offering is set to "NoAssignMeCatalog.jpg

This is how the LMS is designed to function:

  • If Self Registration is set to "No", users cannot Register for the offering of the item, but they can still assign the Item to their Learning Plan
  • If a User self - assigns the Item and there is an Approval Process, the user will not be able to launch the Item as it will show up as "Request Approval" on their Learning Plan

Potential workarounds to stop users self-assigning items (i.e. "Assign to me" option on the catalog search):

1. Remove the workflow which controls it "Add to Learning Assignments" from the user's role

2. Remove the Item from Catalogs the user has access to
