We have several UserID's we would like to convert, but Employee Cenral is enabled, and as per article "2088176 - Manage Users: User ID Conversion process and frequently asked questions - Platform" - UserID Conversion is currently not supported for Employee Central.

Artcile "2088176 - Manage Users: User ID Conversion process and frequently asked questions - Platform" is currently accurate. It is not possible to request UserID Conversion for users with Employee Central data.

  • This means that if you have enabled the Employee Central module on your instance, but have not yet started the EC Data Import phase of your implementation, it should be possible to still execute a UserID conversion.
  • If however, data has been created for the user in Employee Central (Biographical Info & Employment Details) then it is not possible to convert the UserIDs currently



UserID Conversion- Pre-Implementation Advice

When planning an Employee Central implementation, where you know in advance that some UserIDs will need to be changed/converted, but the user already has data created in other modules (such as LMS, JAM, RCM, PM, GM, Compensation, VarPay, etc) then it is really important to get the UserID Conversion request raised as early in the implementation process as possible (preferably before implementation in the Production system begins) because once the 1st set of EC data is loaded for the employee, it will no longer be possible to convert their UserID.

How can I check to see whether the UserID in question has any EC data loaded for it?

Follow these steps to verify -:

1) The first way (via UI) you check is to navigate to My Employee Files > Employment Information and search for the user - if there is any data in Employment Details or Job Information - this would indicate the employee has EC data.


You can further check by navigating to My Employee Files > Personal Information for the same user, and taking note whether they have a "Person ID" defined in their Biographical Information portlet.


If they do, then the user has basic EC data loaded already, and UserID Conversion is therefore not possible.

2) The second way is to run an of Ad Hoc reports to check whether data exists for your user

a) Navigate to Ad Hoc Reports and create a new Person and Employment Export report


b) Give the report a name, and then click the "Columns" pill. Click "Select Columns"
c) Select the Column Set "Employment Info" and then select the 2 fields "person-id-external" and "user-ID"


d) Save and Generate the report
e) Open in CSV editor and put a filter on column "user-ID" and then search for the User ID's in question. If the User ID is included in the report, then the employee has EC data and cannot be converted
