Resolution

The Manage Pool window of the Legacy Talent Pools feature allows Succession Planners to add, edit and delete Talent Pool members.

Talent Pool Set Up options

The following options are available within the Talent Pool Set Up page, which is available on Admin Center > Succession > Talent Pool Set Up. This is where you will be able to configure/manage the Legacy Talent Pools feature.

  • Use readiness rating for pool-based planning (3): this option allows the Succession Planners to select a readiness rating for the users they nominate to a Talent Pool.  If this option is enabled, the “Readiness” field will be required for all Talent Pool nominations. It will use the values from the “Readiness” rating scale you should have defined in your system for Succession Planning purposes.
  • Allow succession planners to edit pool descriptions (1): this option allows users with Succession Planning permissions to edit the Talent Pool description in the Manage Pool window. If this option is enabled, a text box to edit the Talent Pool description will be available below the Talent Pool name (see 1 in the above screenshot).
  • Import Talent Pool Setup file: this option allows you to import the Talent Pools to the system. For more information on the Import template, please refer to KBA 2217052 - Legacy Talent Pools: Template for Importing New Talent Pools.

Note: Besides these two options, it is not possible to customize the options available within the Manage Pool window.

Fields available for each Talent Pool nomination within the Manage Pool window:

  • Name (2): this is where you will select the user that you are nominating to the Talent Pool. It is a required field for a Talent Pool nomination and available by default.
  • Readiness (3): this option allows you to select a readiness for the user you are nominating to the Talent Pool. It will use the values from the “Readiness” rating scale you should have defined in your system for Succession Planning purposes. In the “Talent Pool Set Up” page (Admin Center > Succession > Talent Pool Set Up) you can decide whether you would like to have the option to select a readiness for Talent Pool Nominations (“Use readiness rating for pool-based planning” option). If this option is enabled, the “Readiness” field will be required for all Talent Pool nominations.
  • Comments (4): this option allows you to add a comment for each Talent Pool nomination. It is not possible to disable this option, but this is a non-required field for Talent Pool nominations.
  • Last Modified By (5): this option displays the user that last modified the nomination within the Talent Pool and the date when the nomination was modified. It is not possible to disable this option. The information is populated automatically by the system.
