2283916 - Time Formatting in Plateau Report Designer

Symptom

The time/date formatting in Plateau Report Designer (PRD) displays a 12 or 24 hour format depending on the case (Upper/Lower) format code

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Choosing format code MMM-DD-YYYY HH:mm:ss and 02/10/2016 12:00:01am

    => Expectation: the time format stays as 12 hour format
    => System behaviour: the display is 24 hour format

  2. Choosing format code MMM-DD-YYYY hh:mm:ss and 02/10/2016 00:00:01am

    => Expectation: the time format stays as 24 hour format
    => System behaviour: the display is 12 hour format

Cause

This is the expected behavior of the PRD.

Resolution

  • HH => 24hr format regardless of the time format you input in the DateTime preview              
  • hh => 12hr format regardless of the time format you input in the DateTime preview
