2269282 - What tables are used for a user's custom columns

Symptom

  • When creating a custom report using the Plateau Report Designer it is sometimes necessary to pull in data for an LMS user that is stored in a custom column. The information on where the custom column data is stored is not clear, how can I determine where this data is held in the LMS database?

Environment

  • SuccessFactors Learning Management System

Resolution

  • As a starting point it is always good to have a copy of the latest database dictionary for the LMS. This document contains all the tables and columns which are included in the database with description for those items. This can be returned by request of support or it can be downloaded from the Market Place

  • The custom column reference for the STUDENT object is stored within the PA_USRCL_STUD table and the values in the PA_STUD_USER table.
For localization purposes this table will contain a label pointer that will need to be looked up in the localization tables to determine the proper string for the language required.
These tables are the PA_I18N_LABEL, PA_I18N_LOCALIZED_LABEL.
