While trying to replicate employees via IDoc you get the following error message for the Employee Master Data Replication Request in Application and User Management > Business Communication Monitoring work center view:
Remote IDoc logical system XYZ ambiguous.
Reproducing the Issue
- Replicate the employees to Cloud for Travel and Expense system using IDoc
- Check the incoming message on Application and User Management > Business Communication Monitoring work center view
Under Message Status section notice the Status Information message Remote IDoc logical system XYZ ambiguous.
The error message appears when for the given IDoc Logical System ID (in this case XYZ) multiple communication systems could be found instead of a unique one. As a consequence the system does not know how to react and to handle the employee IDs, therefore an error is thrown until the communication can be uniquely identified.
There are basically two possibilities to solve the issue:
- For all the systems assigned to IDoc Logical System ID XYZ rename the IDoc Logical System ID to any other than XYZ.
- Choose only one system connected to IDoc Logical System ID XYZ and Delete all the others.
Both resolution options are done in the Application and User Management > Communication Systems view.
