2253070 - How Classification of an Item is decided in LMS

Symptom

This KBA covers How the LMS considers the classification of the Item as Instructor Led, Online and Blended

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)

Resolution

Whenever you create an Item in LMS (i.e. Via UI or Connectors), the item is created as "Other" Classification

  • If you add the Online Content to an Item then the classification changes to Online
    • - Or -
  • If you add Segment to an Item then the classification changes to Instructor Led
    • - Or -
  • If you add both Online Content and Segment to an Item then classification changes to Blended

NOTES:

  • If you add Segment to an Online Item (i.e. which has online content in it), or if you add Online content to an ILT Item (i.e. which has segment in it) then Classification changes to Blended
  • If you remove Online Content or Segment then classification doesn’t change back to Online or Instructor Led, it remains as a Blended Item
  • The same applies for an Online item: Even if you remove the online Content, the classification will not change to "Other"
  • It is not possible to manually change an Item Classification
