Symptom

How to create a new instructor role added in B1508 LMS version.

Environment

SuccessFactors Learning Management Systems - LMS versions b1508 and higher

Resolution

Below are the steps to add Default Instructor Role and assign to a test user.

1) System Admin > Security > Role Management > DEFAULT INSTRUCTOR > open

2) Workflows Tab > edit > add one or more from list > select check boxes corresponding to the workflows you would like to grant the instructor with and apply changes

BEST PRACTICE:

once you have added the desired workflows to the instructor role and tested please COPY the instructor role to make it your own as releases may sometime change default roles and you may loose the customization applied.

NOTE:

you must copy the default instructor role as the basis for your custom instructor role since if you create a new role from scratch, it will not contain the instructor specific workflows:

3) Now Go to Learning > Instructor > Add New [You will observe default instructor role is already populated for new instructor.]

If you use existing instructor ID , default role should be populated.

 

4) Once instructor is added you'll have to assign a related user from Instructor summary tab.

Sign-out and Sign back in, admin will observe new tab 'My Class'.
