2218873 - Error: 'crw32.exe - Entry Point Not Found', when opening Crystal Reports or Clicking on some buttons after Start

• Error: 'crw32.exe - Entry Point Not Found'
• Unable to launch Crystal Reports
• Crystal Reports starts, but crashes after clicking on Blank Report, Save or Open buttons
• Able to open Crystal Reports on other computers, the issue only occurs on specific computers.
• When attempting to launch Crystal Reports, it fails with one of the following error:
              
  'Error CRW32.EXE - Entry Point Not Found'
  'The procedure entry point <ENTRY POINT>
   could not be located in the dynamic link library c:\program files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\crw32.exe"
         
  'Error CRW32.EXE - Entry Point Not Found'
  'The procedure entry point <ENTRY POINT>
   could not be located in the dynamic link library cslibu-3-0.dll'

• SAP Crystal Reports 2008
• SAP Crystal Reports 2011
• SAP Crystal Reports 2013
• SAP Crystal Reports 2016
• SAP Crystal Reports 2020

1. Install Crystal Reports, on a computer that have SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform installed, or the SAP BusinessObjects Clients installed.
          
2. When launching Crystal Reports, it fails to start and display an error like:
           
    'Error CRW32.EXE - Entry Point Not Found'
    'The procedure entry point <ENTRY POINT>
     could not be located in the dynamic link library <PATH or LIBRARY>'

or crashes

• This error occurs due to a version mismatch between Crystal Reports and the version of the following product installed on the same computer:
• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform ( SAP BI )
• SAP BusinessObjects Client Tools
• SAP Crystal Dashboards
• SAP Crystal Reports Server
• SAP Crystal Server
• SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise
     
• It is either the major version of the product that is different, or the product update level that is different. ( Support Pack or Patch )
      
  For examples:
         
• For Major Product Version:
      
• If you have the following installed on one computer:
     - Crystal Reports 2013
     - SAP BusinessObjects Client Tools for SAP BI 4.2  
         
  Crystal Reports 2013 will fail to launch because the version of Crystal Reports to use with SAP BI 4.2 is Crystal Reports 2016. 
           
                  
• For Product Update Version differences: ( Support Pack or Patch )
         
• If you have the following installed on one computer:
     - Crystal Reports 2013 with Support Pack 05
     - SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.1 with Support Pack 07
     
  Crystal Reports 2013 will fail to launch because Crystal Reports 2013 is not at the same product update version as SAP BI 4.1. Crystal Reports 2013 therefore needs to be at Support Pack 07 

• Install the version of Crystal Reports, or the Support Pack or Patch that correspond to the version of the other SAP BusinessObject product installed on the same computer.
    
1. Confirm which of the following product is installed on the same computer has Crystal Reports, and verify the exact version.
• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform ( SAP BI )
• SAP BusinessObjects Client Tools
• SAP Crystal Dashboards
• SAP Crystal Reports Server
• SAP Crystal Server
• SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise
         
2. If the major version of Crystal Reports does not correspond to the other product installed, uninstall Crystal Reports, and install the correct version:
         
• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform (SAP BI):
• For SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0, install Crystal Reports 2011
• For SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.1, install Crystal Reports 2013
• For SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.2, install Crystal Reports 2016
• For SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.3, install Crystal Reports 2020
         
• SAP Crystal Reports Server, or SAP Crystal Server
• For Crystal Reports Server 2008 v1, install Crystal Reports 2008 v1
• For SAP Crystal Reports Server 2011, install Crystal Reports 2011
• For SAP Crystal Server 2013, install Crystal Reports 2013
• For SAP Crystal Server 2016, install Crystal Reports 2016
• For SAP Crystal Server 2020, install Crystal Reports 2020    

• SAP BusinessObjects Client Tools
• For SAP BI 4.0 Client Tools, install Crystal Reports 2011
• For SAP BI 4.1 Client Tools, install Crystal Reports 2013
• For SAP BI 4.2 Client Tools, install Crystal Reports 2016
• For SAP BI 4.3 Client Tools, install Crystal Reports 2020

• SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI
• For SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0, install Crystal Reports 2008 v0
• For SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, install Crystal Reports 2008 v1

1. If the major version of Crystal Reports correspond to the other product installed, but the Support Pack or Patch level is different, then apply the same product update to Crystal Reports as the other product installed. 
            
   For example:
          
   If you have on the same computer Crystal Reports 2013 with Support Pack 04, and the SAP BI Client Tools 4.1 with Support Pack 07. Then you need to download and apply Support Pack 07 to Crystal Reports 2013.
   
   
   Important Note:
   It is not recommended to install client applications, like Crystal Reports, on the same computer as SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform / SAP Crystal Server. Install Crystal Reports on a different computer than the server. From SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence platform 4.3, it is not supported.
