Users with umlauts in their name are appearing incorrectly in BizX (Successfactors) and SAP Jam. Instead of the umlaut a character that looks like a diamond (or square, depending on the browser) with a questionmark appears.
This issue can be caused when the source data was not encoded in UTF-8. If the provisioning data source was encoded with other code page (besides UTF-8), this sort of problem may occur. The above symbol appears when an invalid (non-UTF-8) character appears in a page that has been declared to be UTF-8. To prevent this issue from occurring in the future please make sure the source data is in UTF-8 format.
How can the issue be resolved for existing users?
For existing users with corrupted name field, the only way to fix it is to re-upload the profile data with the correct encoding.
