How to control the access of Upgrade Center via permission?

Resolution

You can now control access to the Upgrade Center using role-based permissions (RBP). First, you can choose whether or not to enable this access control. Second, if enabled, you can then grant access to Upgrade Center in RBP, on the Manage System Permissions tab.

How to enable?

By default, Enable Upgrade Center Permission Access is off in provisioning.  Please contact the SAP Cloud Support Team (LOD-SF-PLT-REL) and ask to have this feature enabled.

By default, when Enable Upgrade Center Permission Access is off in provisioning, all user will have access to Upgrade Center, they will be able to view details of upgrades. But will only be able to download upgrades if they have module permissions for the specific upgrade.

Pre-requisite: This feature is only available on RBP-enabled instance.

How to set Upgrade Center access permission?

By default, after this feature is switched on, no user will have access to Upgrade Center until access permission is specifically granted.

To grant the permission go to:

  1. Admin Center

  2. Click Manage Permission Roles

  3. Select the Role

  4. Click "Permission..." button

  5. Select "Admin Center Permissions" on left menu

  6. Grant "Manage Upgrade Center" permission

NOTE: Users can only upgrade the features of the modules that s/he has permission(s) granted.
