Sometime Administrators need to change employee's username directly from user interface instead of using import.
But by default this field is not visible for editable purpose.
For v12 please navigate to Admin Tools-> Employee Files->Configure Employee Files-> Talent Profile (Employee Profile Page) -> Add username field to any portlet and then saved the dashboard.
Opend Talent Profile (Employee Profile Page) in for editing
Edit live profile user information Element
Click on Add another field and selec username field from the drop down. Now save the Element -> Save the dashboard.
To add the field for PP3 please go to Admin Tools-> Employee Files-> Configure People Profile:
Navigate to 'Talent Profile' block and select the sub-block under which you would like 'username' to be editable. Click 'Add Field', sleect username and click save:
The field order for the block can be changed by clicking and dragging the arrows beside the field and placing it as to how you would like it to appear on the UI.
Please also ensure subsection visibility on the User Profile by clicking on the subsection and ensuring 'Show this subsection on the profile is ticked:
Provide role-based permission to View and Edit the username field in the Admin Tools -> Manage Permission Roles, under Employee Data.
Now go to the employee’s user profile and change username as desired.
Please note username is used to login to thel instance, it might affect employee’s access and hence need to be notified to the employee with new username.
In case there is a manager cycle present in User Data File, then an error will prevent the username change from user interface. This is a hardcoded error message, which currently cannot be disabled.
Manager cycle is formed when employee, for example: A's manager is B and B's Manager is C, and C's Manager is A.
