2153389 - Global Assignment: Total Report Count in OrgChart

Sometimes it is seen that the total report count in OrgChart is different than the number of total users seen under him/her in the OrgChart.

Let us consider the following OrgChart.

Here, Jonathan has 5 direct report and total 46 reports. But if we count the number of direct and indirect reports under Jonathan, the number of total report is = 5 (direct reports) + 3 (under Alan) + 2 (under Julie) + 36 (under Mary) = 46. This number is correct.




 If we send Alan Lake to Global Assignment under another Manager, the OrgChart will be as following:



Now, the total number of reports for Jonathan should be 4 + 2 + 36 = 42. But it shows 45 in the OrgChart of Jonathan.

This is because of Global Assignment. When an employee is sent on Global Assignment, the count is reduced by one. The system still continues to count the Global Assigned user's direct and indirect reports in the OrgChart.

As per the current product design, there is no special feature which can handle the direct reports of the main/home employment.

In order to rectify the situation, the direct reports of the global assigned user do need some action after the GA is created.

A new manager can be assigned to them or have them moved to the GA manager manually by updating Job Information. Once that is done, the OrgChart will show the expected number of total reports.
