2149283 - Edit Future Dated New Hires in Employee Central


Unable to view/Edit Future Dated New Hires in Employee Central, even if I search with “Include Inactive Users” selected.

Reproducing the Issue

1. Seach for a Future Datednewhire by selecting the 'Include Inactive Users' optionin the employee search.

2.You will notbe able to view/edit the Employee cental information(Personal Information,Employment information etc.)



This is an expected behavior. You would not see this New Hire in Employee Central until their Effective Start Date is reached, at which point their Job Information record will become active.

NOTE: Until active (based on Effective Start Date), the employee will not be considered to be part of that business area, as the Job Information record is not yet active.


There are 2 workarounds that can be done: 

  1. Change the Target population of the role to ‘Everyone’ instead of Target population.(Admin Tools->Manage Permission role-> {select the role} ->Click on ‘Edit Granting’ of  the role->select Everyone)




  1. You can configure the RBP Group to grant the same population (EMEA), but instead of pointing out which Companies or departments they should see, you can give permission to instead exclude all the other companies, departments they should not see.

This way, users who have future dated Hire records will not be excluded from the Target Population returned to this Role. Please see below steps for configuration :



  1. Admin Tools -> set User Permissions -> Manage Permission Groups->EMEA
  2. In the ‘Exclude these people from the group’ (Highlighted) tab, Create the 2 ‘People Pool’ just like in ‘Choose Group Members’, but :

a)      Include all the Companies except the ones that is mentioned in ‘Choose Group Members’-> ‘Job Information-Company’.

b)      Include all departments except the ones that is mentioned in ‘Choose Group Members’-> Job ‘Informaion-Department’.

c)       Delete all the ‘People pool’(Job Information-company and Job Information-Department) in ‘Choose Group Members’


 3. Click Finished



STEP 1: Delete the Assignment Information-Company

STEP 2: In the ‘Exclude these people from the group’ section, Add all the companies except the company in which  the employee belongs to (In the below example, Add all the companies except ‘ Adama Australia PTY Ltd.’ and ‘ Adama New Zealand Ltd.’ to which the employees belongs to)



1. This will include all the future hires of the targeted company or department.

2. Every time a new company or department is added, you need to add it to the exclude group, if it is not the targeted company or department for the HR admin.
