2142920 - Using and enabling Suggested searches for Catalogs - Learning

Symptom

This article highlights how to enable the Suggested Search items in the Catalog Search

How do you enable the suggested searches in the Learning Management system? Why does it search for inactive or items not in the catalog?

Environment

  • SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS) - All Supported Versions

Resolution

When enabled the system reviews all catalogs to suggest search phrases based on actual items in the environment when users type the third character in a search phrase. Results displayed by relevancy of searched terms rather than alphabetical item title.

The search suggestion is disabled by default and can be enabled under System Admin > Configuration > System Configuration > SEARCH > enableCatalogSearchTypeAhead = true/false

Note : SuccessFactors Learning suggests searches from across all catalogs. If users click a search term that does not find results in their own catalogs, nothing is retrieved.

# This configuration is used to enable/disable the catalog search type ahead feature.
