2140586 - Recurring Journal Entry Vouchers Are Not Posted

Symptom

You have created a new Recurrence Journal Entry Voucher or extended the end validity of an existing one, however none of the due occurrences were posted.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to General Ledger work center.
  2. Go to Recurring Journal Entry Vouchers view.
  3. Create new recurring journal entry voucher or extend the validity of an existing one.
  4. Refer to the List of Journal Entry Vouchers tab.

You see that due occurrences were not posted and no error occurs when you click Simulate.

Cause

In this case, there is no background job scheduled so that the system can post the occurrences based on its recurrence pattern.

Background Jobs can be seen via Application and User Management,  Background Jobs view. In this case, there is no job of type Recurring Journal Entries Run.

Resolution

In order to post the recurring journal entry vouchers automatically, you have to create a new Recurring Journal Entry Voucher Run.

You can do this through the below steps:

  1. Go to General Ledger work center.
  2. Go to Post Recurring Journal Entry Vouchers view.
  3. Click New -> Recurring Journal Entry Voucher Run.
  4. Specify the run parameters.

Considering the Due Date Calculation field, you specify how you want the date to be determined up to which the scheduled journal entry vouchers are posted. You have three options:

  • End of Month: All recurring journal entry vouchers that are scheduled up to the end of the current month are posted.
  • End of Previous Month: All recurring journal entry vouchers that are scheduled up to the end of the previous month are posted.
  • Scheduled Execution Date: All recurring journal entry vouchers that are scheduled up to the execution date of the run are posted.
  1. Click Set to Active.
  2. Click Schedule in order to schedule the run execution accordingly.

After that, the recurring journal entries are posted based on its recurrence pattern and run execution.
