2103977 - DNS Cache Clear Process - Platform Services & Tools

Symptom

  • In isolated cases, if the BizX application is open during an event like a datacenter migration, users may receive a 404 maintenance page upon login.

Environment

  • Platform Services & Tools

Resolution

Clearing your 'DNS cache' can solve the 404 maintenance error page described above and it is a one-time process. Please see the operating system specific instructions below. 
 

Windows 


(Windows 2000, XP, 7, 8. 10)

1.) Close all browsers

2.) Open the Start menu.
 
3.) Type "Command Prompt" in the search bar.

4.) In the Command Prompt enter 'ipconfig /flushdns'Note: There is a space after 'ipconfig' and no space after '/'.

5.) Press Enter or Return, and your cache will be flushed.

6.) Open browser and access BizX application per normal procedure.

Mac iOS

1.) Close all browsers

2.) Go to Applications

3.) Go to Utilities

4.) Open the Terminal application.

5.) Type: 'dscacheutil -flushcache'

6.) Press Enter or Return, and your cache will be flushed.

7.) Open browser and access BizX application per normal procedure.
