2103977 - DNS Cache Clear Process - Platform Services & Tools

Symptom

  • In isolated cases, if the BizX application is open during an event like a datacenter migration, users may receive a 404 maintenance page upon login.

Environment

Resolution

Clearing your 'DNS cache' can solve the 404 maintenance error page described above and it is a one-time process. Please see the operating system specific instructions below. 
 

Windows 


(Windows 2000, XP, 7, 8)

1.) Close all browsers 

2.) Open the Start menu.
 
3.) Go to Run. Note: If you do not see the Run command in Vista, search for "run
" in the Search bar.

 4.) In the Run search box enter 'ipconfig /flushdns'. 

5.) Press Enter or Return, and your cache will be flushed.

Note: There is a space after 'ipconfig' and no space after '/'.


6.) Open browser and access BizX application per normal procedure. 
 

Mac iOS

1.) Close all browsers

2.) Go to Applications

3.) Go to Utilities

4.) Open the Terminal application.

5.) Type: 'dscacheutil -flushcache'

6.) Press Enter or Return, and your cache will be flushed.

7.) Open browser and access BizX application per normal procedure.
