2091013 - Why is Visitor data not available beyond a rolling 90 days? - Recruiting Marketing


  • Recruiting Marketing has, historically, held years and years of Visitor data. But Visitor data has inherently limited value when you go back further than a couple of weeks or months. In particular, Recruiting Marketing is not focused on generating Visitors but in generating Talent Community members and applicants. Visitors are a reflection of the traffic generated to the site, and while informative it is not actionable.

    Furthermore, retaining and indexing all of the Visitor information had a significant performance impact on the overall Recruiting Marketing system as a whole, and specific reports within the Dashboard were becoming non-functional with the extensive data available.

  • From the May 24, 2014 release forward, RMK will only track visitor traffic for the past 90 days, on a rolling basis. The 90 day timeline was chosen due to its alignment with our current keyword page generation process as well maintaining one working quarter of detailed level transactional visitor data for our clients. All keyword data preceding the 90 day rolling period will be rolled up to the aggregate/summary level for reporting purposes.
  • Attempting to pull data from these reports beyond the 90 day period will generate an error, as the data does not exist for beyond this period.
