2088617 - Passwords: Users getting a "Null" value when trying to retrieve password - Platform

Symptom

  • A user cannot log into the system. When the user clicks "Forgot Password" they do get an email, but no password value is returned.

Environment

  • BizX Platform

Cause

  • This usually happens when a file is imported with a Password column that is blank.

Resolution

  • The user will need to have their password reset (depending on the scope of who was affected, this could mean others need it as well by an additional upload). You can upload a file with a password for all, or reset individually.
     
  • Next, be sure to remove the password column from the import file (if the company does not want to send over password values) or the next time it is loaded it will erase them again.
