2088583 - Navigation: Changing or Renaming Menus Tabs and Subtabs in BizX Modules - Platform

Symptom

  • Changing Menu, Tabs & Subtabs in v11 & v12 for all modules: Goal Tab, Performance Tab, Compensation Tab, Development Tab, Succession Tab, Recruiting Tab, Careers Tab, Company Info Tab, My Employee File Tab, Reports Tab.
     
     
  • Can I rename the Main Menu Items in Revolution?
     

  • Can I change the main tabs in Ultra? Can I rename the tabs in Ultra? Can I reorder the tabs in Ultra? Can I hide the tabs in Ultra?

Resolution

  • This solution outlines the options available for the main tabs and subtabs displayed in Ultra, as well as controlling the Main Menu in Revolution. For any tab not mentioned below, please contact SuccessFactors Customer Success. Goal Tab/Objective Tab, Performance Tab, Compensation Tab, Development Tab, Succession Tab/Talent Tab, Recruiting Tab, Careers Tab, Company Info Tab, My Employee File Tab, Reports Tab/Analytics Tab

          Note: Where we refer to the main "Tabs" in Ultra, in v.12 Revolution UI this will relate to the Main Menu dropdown list.

 

Changing The Order Tabs Display - Reordering The Tabs in Main Menu / Module Picker

  • The Main Menu / Module Picker is listed as per below table and cannot be changed as this is hard coded. The main tabs dynamically display in a preset order, as you currently see in your instance, based on the modules and features you have enabled (Not all listed items will be displayed on Main menu, only the features enabled in your instance).

Goals/Objective Tab Renaming Tab:

  • You have the option to rename the Goals tab to Objectives or vice-versa. If you’d like to rename your tab, contact SuccessFactors Customer Success. Note to SF staff and Partners: Change via Provisioning > Company Settings.
     
    In addition to this you also have the ability to rename the word Objective globally once your tab has been changed from Goals to Objectives. Go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement >
  • "Objectives". Note: This will also change the word globally. Logout first to see changes.
  • Also look for the string of values

Hiding/Turning Off Goal Tab: 

  • You can disable the main goal tab. This is often done if all goal planning is done via a performance form, as opposed to directly in the goal plan. Please open a case with Customer Success to have your goal tab disabled. This is a switch and does not require a change request. 

 

SubTabs:

    Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Goal Plan The word Goal can be renamed as described above for the main tab
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed. This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

Performance Tab Renaming Tab:

  • To change the Performance Tab go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Performance". Note this will only change the tab and will not change the word globally.

 

Hiding/Turning Off PerformanceTab: 

  • You can permission who has access to the the main performance tab. All clients will always see this tab by default, but an admin with this permission can disable access to Performance Tab from Admin Tools > Set User Permission > Performance Management Access on an individual level.
     

SubTabs:

    Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Review subtab can be renamed: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Review"
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed. This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.
  • PM 2.0 Team Overview cannot be renamed
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

 

Compensation Tab

   This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it. The Compensation Tab should appear to a user if:

  • They have access to any Compensation forms (Inbox, En Route or Completed)
  • They have Executive Review Read or Edit access
  • They have Budget Assignment access

   If none of the above apply, the Compensation tab should not appear.

  • Additionally an admin with sufficient permission can disable access to the Compensation Tab from Admin Tools > Set User Permission > Compensation Management Access on an individual level.

 

Renaming Tab:

  • To change the Compensation Tab go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Compensation". Note: this will only change the tab and will not change the word globally.

 

SubTabs:

   Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Forms Subtab can be renamed in Admin> Text Replacement as of b1207
  • Executive Review: Subtab can be renamed in Admin> Text Replacement as of b1207
  • Budget Assignment: Subtab can be renamed in Admin> Text Replacement as of b1207
  • Planning Permissions: Subtab can be renamed in Admin> Text Replacement as of b1207
  • Approval: Subtab can be renamed in Admin> Text Replacement as of b1207
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed.
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

 

Development Tab Renaming Tab:

  • To change the Development Tab go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Development". Note: this will only change the tab and will not change the word globally.

 

SubTabs:

    Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Development Plan: This can be renamed from Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Development Plan". Note: this will only change the tab and will not change the word globally.
  • Career Worksheet: This cannot be renamed
  • LMS Home: This can be renamed from Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "LMS Home". Note: this will only change the subtab and will not change the word globally
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed. This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

Succession/Talent Tab Renaming Tab:

  • You have the option to rename the Succession tab to Talent or vice-versa. If you’d like to rename your tab, contact SuccessFactors Customer Success. Note to SF staff and Partners: Change via Provisioning > Company Settings.

 

Succession Subtabs:

    Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Nomination  subtab cannot be renamed
  • Succession Organization Chart  subtab cannot be renamed
  • Lineage Chart  subtab cannot be renamed subtab cannot be renamed
  • Talent Search subtab cannot be renamed
  • Performance-Potential Matrix subtab cannot be renamed
  • How vs. What Matrix subtab cannot be renamed
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

 

Hiding/Turning Off Sucession Subtabs:

  • You now have the option to show or hide the Nomination subtab, like you can with the other Succession subtabs. If you would like to hide the subtab, contact SuccessFactors Customer Success. (XI-1170)

 

Recruiting Tab Renaming Tab:

  • You have the option to rename the Succession tab to Talent or vice-versa. If you’d like to rename your tab, contact SuccessFactors Customer Success. Note to SF staff and Partners: Change via Provisioning > Company Settings.

 

Subtabs:

    Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Job Requisitions subtab cannot be renamed
  • Sources subtab cannot be renamed
  • My Library subtab cannot be renamed
  • Candidates subtab cannot be renamed
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed.  This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

 

Careers Tab

Renaming Tab:

  • You cannot rename this tab currently.
     

Subtabs:

   Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Job Search subtab cannot be renamed
  • Job Application subtab cannot be renamed
  • Saved Jobs subtab cannot be renamed
  • Job Alerts subtab cannot be renamed
  • My Candidate profile subtab cannot be renamed
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

 

My Employee File Tab Renaming My Employee File Tab:

  • This tab cannot at this time be renamed, however the word Employee is a word that your company might change globally via Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Employee". A popular alternative is "Associate". Updating this value would change your tab to "My Associate File".
     

Hiding/Turning Off My Employee File Tab:

  • This tab cannot be turned off. It will dynamically show if you are using any of the modules. Therefore the only way it will not show is if you disable the Profile module which would prevent you from accessing other sub features you may need, which is not a practical option.
     

My Employee File Subtabs:

   Depending on your configuration, My Employee File in Ultra has the following subtabs: 

  • Employee Files
  • Help & Tutorials 
  • Profile
  • Scorecard
  • Background Info
  • Talent Info
  • Notes
  • History
  • Compensation Statement
  • Performance Profile/Individual Job Record
  • Variable Pay Individual View
  • Variable Pay Statement
  • [You may have other custom portlets that are not addressed here]
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.
     

Reordering Subtabs

  • You can reorder the subtabs (except for Profile and Help & Tutorials) from:  Admin Tools > Employee Files > Configure Employee Files > Click the blue Up or Down arrows in the Order column to reorder any item.
     

Renaming My Employee File Subtabs:

  • Employee Files subtab cannot be renamed, but as outlined above, the word Employee can be changed globally via Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Employee".
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed
  • Scorecard subtab cannot be renamed without changing the word globally. To change the Scorecard subtab which will also change the word globally go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Scorecard"
  • Background Info can be renamed: Admin Tools > Employee Files > Configure Employee Files > Click the edit icon for Background Info > Enter new Dashboard Name: > Save Dashboard
  • Talent Info subtab can be renamed: can be renamed: Admin Tools > Employee Files > Configure Employee Files > Click the edit icon for Talent Info > Enter new Dashboard Name: > Save Dashboard
  • Notes subtab cannot be renamed
  • History subtab cannot be renamed
  • Compensation Statement subtab cannot be renamed. Note: changing the word "compensation" in text replacement will not apply to this subtab.
  • Performance Profile/Individual Job Record subtab cannot be renamed without changing the words globally. To change the Performance Profile/Individual Job Record subtab which will also change the words globally go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Performance Profile"
  • Variable Pay Individual View subtab cannot be renamed
  • Variable Pay Statement subtab cannot be renamed.
     

Hiding/Turning Off My Employee File Subtabs:

  • Except for the Profile page you can disable anyone of these other pages (subtabs) from Admin Tools > Employee Files > Configure Employee Files > Uncheck/Check the Show/Hide checkbox for any subtab you want to hide/show.

    Note: To disable or enable Scorecard please contact Customer Success as this is controlled via the provisioning feature: Employee Scorecard Dashboard. Once they have disabled the feature it will no longer show in My Employee File. The help & tutorials tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.

 

Company Info Tab Renaming Tab:

  • To change the Company Info Tab go to: Admin Tools > System Properties > Text Replacement > "Company Info". Note: this will only change the tab and will not change the word globally.

SubTabs:

   Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs: 

  • Org Chart subtab cannot be renamed
  • Directory subtab cannot be renamed
  • Company Barometer subtab cannot be renamed
  • Resources subtab cannot be renamed
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed. This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.

 

Hiding/Turning Off My Company Info Tab:

  • This tab cannot be turned off but it will dynamically show or hide to end users (non-admin) if you are using/not using any of the modules. Therefore the only way it will not show to end users is if you disable (do not use) the modules within this tab. An administrator will still see this tab along with the Help & Tutorials tab so that they can add tutorials if desired in the future. You should login in as an end user (non-admin) to confirm the Company Info tab does not display when all sub features are off.

 

Reports/Analytics Tab Renaming Tab:

  • You have the option to rename the Reports tab to Analytics or vice-versa. If you would like to rename your tab, contact SuccessFactors Customer Success. Note to SF staff and Partners: Change via Provisioning > Company Settings.
     

SubTabs:

    Depending on your configuration, you may see the following subtabs:

  • Dashboards subtab cannot be renamed
  • Analytics subtab cannot be renamed
  • Publishing subtab cannot be renamed
  • Help & Tutorials subtab cannot be renamed. This tab will only show to end users if the administrator has enabled it.
  • Each user can control which subtab is first seen from Options > Sub Tab Configuration. From list of options set the sub tabs to be seen by default and save.
