2088021 - FTP: Error - FTP Load failed due an Invalid user - BizX Platform

Symptom

  • I just received an email message stating "FTP Load failed due an Invalid user", what does this mean?

Resolution

  • If you have received the following email:


"runclient:      [echo] runclient target got jvmargs = , class = com.sf.sfv4.ejb.user.UserClient and args = -w AZ_Sched_Import_Server -c CompanyID -username ftp_import -password abc123 -importUserCSV /export/home/sfuser/pgp/CompanyID/incoming/20090326/CompanyID_EMP_yymmdd.txt -validateMgr -mgrTransfer -routeInboxDoc -routeEnRouteDoc -routeCompletedDoc -defaultPwdField USERNAME -sendLogTo [EMAIL ADDRESSES WILL BE HERE] and dir = .      [java] Validating user ftp_import      [java] Validating user ftp_import      [java] Invalid user: ftp_import"

  • This issue is most likely related to the fact that something has changed about the "dummy" user that we use to process the FTP job. You can troubleshoot the issue as if it is an end user that cannot login. You can identify the username of the user that is used from the email message "Validating user ftp_import".

 

 

The User used for the FTP process is inactive

 

You can reactivate them by going to Admin > Set User Status.
The User used for the FTP process has their account is locked

 

You can unlock them by going to Admin > Reset User Account.
The User used for the FTP process is not in default user group

 

You can add them back to the default user group by going to Admin > Default User Group Assignment.
SuccessFactors is using a different password for the supplied username than what the password actually is in the application

 

The password the ftp_import is using may not match what Operations has in the script that is being used to process the job. In the email message it will state the password the FTP job is using on this line, "-password abc123", you can reset the username's password via Admin > Reset User Password to see if this is the issue.

The username of the User used for the FTP process has changed

 

  • The username the script is using to process the FTP job may have changed and may not match what Operations has in the script that is being used to process the job. In the email message it will state the username the FTP job is using on this line, "-username ftp_import ", you can check to ensure that username exists in the system via Admin > Change User Information. If the Username does not match you can update the username exactly as it is in the email log via Admin > Change User Information
