2087544 - Data Imports & Exports: User Import Validate File Button Produces Different Results than FTP Import Notification - Platform


  • This document explains why the User Import Validate File Button, found in admin tools > Import Employees, produces different error results from the results shown in the email sent after import is completed.

  • The reason they are different is that the validate button assumes your import file contains the entire company user data. If therefore your import file is not a complete file, but rather is an incremental import, some managers are not in the import file.
  • As the complete company hierarchy is not in the file, it is impossible for our system to do a complete and accurate validation. Therefore you are likely to receive different error messages on-screen than you receive in your email notification.
  • If the on-screen validation errors are of concern to you, please contact SuccessFactors Customer Success for an explanation of the errors received before completing your import.
