How do I enable or disable email notifications for an individual user or a group of users?

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Resolution

Change for an Individual User

  1. Navigate to Admin Center
  2. In tools search enter "Change User Email Notification"
  3. Enter the First Name, Last Name, Username and/or Job Code for the user you wish to alter the Email Notification for
  4. Click Search Users
  5. Place a check mark in the Email Notification column check box to enable Email Notification. Remove the check mark in the Email Notification column check box to disable Email Notification
  6. Click Save

 The Setting Change for a Group of Users

  1. Navigate to the Admin Center
  2. In tools search enter "Change User Email Notification"
  3. Choose the Filters to filter the users by or Enter a Job Code for the group of users you wish to alter the Email Notification for
  4. Click Search Users
  5. Place a check mark or check marks in the Email Notification column check box to enable Email Notification. Remove the check mark or check marks in the Email Notification column check box to disable Email Notification
  6. Click Save The Setting

 How an individual can update their email settings.

If the instance may have the ability to allow users to change their own Email notification setting. From the Admin Center navigate to Company Settings and then select Company System and Logo Settings and if "This option allows a company-wide setting on whether users will receive Email notifications. If 'checked', all users will receive Email on all workflow related process. If not checked, each user has an option to turn notification on/off" is checked the users cannot change the settings, if it is unchecked they can change the setting.

  1. Click Options
  2. From the left click Notifications
  3. Place a check in the Email Notification: check box to enable Email Notifications, remove the check to disable Email Notifications
  4. Click Save Notification


Notes about the company wide setting:

  • If the instance has the setting disabled this message will appear "The company-wide setting for Email Notification is enforced, so individual setting is not allowed."
  • If this setting is enabled, users and admins will be unable to disable workflow related emails, even if using the admin tools mentioned in this article to disable them.
