Symptom

  • Admin is trying to route a worksheet to another user and gets the error that at least one entry needs force comment.
  • At least one entry needs force comment

Environment

  • Compensation

Cause

  • Working as designed. Form moved to next step without the required comments in the first place, possibly due to manager transfers or incorrect change in roles where the force comment rule was originally ignored.

Resolution

  • In order to move the completed form back to any step you’d have to first enter the comment for the employees whose entries are above/below the guidelines.
  • But since the forms are completed planner won’t be able to enter this comment directly through the form.
  • One way to enter this forced comment is described below:
  1. Go to Admin Tools
  2. Compensation > Form template administration
  3. Open the correct template
  4. Check mark the following option: “ Allow edit of completed Compensation forms”

  1. Next proxy as one of the user who has Executive Review Edit Permission (Click Here to know how to grant Executive Review Edit Permission)
  2. Now go to executive review
  3. Open the correct template
  4. Search for the employees whose entries are above/below the specified guidelines
  5. Click on the Comment Icon and enter comment.

  1. Repeat the same for all the other employees whose merit/lumpsum is above/below the specified guidelines.
  2. Once this is done you’ll be able to move the form to any step using Route Form functionality.
