2082008 - Events - Recruiting Management

Symptom

Feature Summary

  • Recruiting Events are events that are organized by HR to source/attract talent. These include University Career Days, Job Fairs etc.

  • The Event features in SuccessFactors allows operators to set up recruiting events, manage staffing schedule, add candidates and schedule interviews.

Environment

  • Recruiting Management.

Resolution

Set-up

  • Job Events work very much like Job Requisitions. You need to create a template during implementation of the instance, for an event and upload it in Provisioning.

Note: Events are only posted on the external candidate site.

  • The next step is to grant certain users ability to create events.

To achieve this, go to Admin Tools and Click on "Permission to Create Forms “under "Manage Security" section.

  • Here choose the Job Event Template that you had uploaded in provisioning and select the user/group of users whom you want to grant permission to create job events.

  •  Now, you are done with the configuration of the events.

Creating an Event

  • Under the Recruiting Tab, you will see 'Events' sub-tab next to the 'Requisition' sub-tab. Click on the 'Events'.

  •  You will now be able to create new events. Just like job requisitions, you will be able to create events using one of the 3 options.

  •  You can specify the Event Title and the date for the event.

  •  You can fill in all the details for the event on the next page and then send it to next step for approval. You must add competencies to the Job Event in order to use the Interview Assessment feature.

If you have micro-sites for recruiting, the same filter as the site will be applied for events and only events which are specific to that site will show up on the micro-site. So, Events will work just like job reqs in that respect.

  • Here in this example-Division is a filter.

On the next steps, approve the event and you will see your event listed in the main events page.

  •  You can click on the event and go to the event details page.

  •  Click on 'Event Postings' to modify the event posting dates. Add the posting dates for your event and click on Post Job.

This will post the event on your corporate website

If you have micro-sites for recruiting, the same filter as the site will be applied for events and only events which are specific to that site will show up on the micro-site. So, Events will work just like job reqs in that respect.

  •  So events will now show up on Corporate Websites as well as on microsites, using “HealthCare” division as a specific filter .

  •  Events will show up on the external site in a separate portlet below the job search section.

Known Issues/Limitations

Reporting

  • Known Limitation: At current time, even templates are not reportable but, the events themselves are reportable.

  • What does this mean? We don't have a separate view for reporting on job requisition event templates like we do for job requisition templates.

However, since events are basically stored in a job requisition table, the events that are created based on an event template will also be reportable through the 'Job Requisition' view.

  • How can I report on Events? In the ad hoc report builder, the job requisition table view is used for reporting both job requisitions and recruiting events. The way to report on them separately is to filter based on the 'template type'.
