2081317 - Late Stage Application - Recruiting Management

Symptom

This article reviews the Late Stage Application Feature and how it is used.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Resolution

  • This feature enables a candidate to be added as applicant directly by the recruiter (or other role). A candidate normally can be an applicant when he actually applies to the job requisition from the external site or internally from the Career tab
  • A candidate can also be forwarded by a recruiter, but in this case is not an applicant, even if it is visible in the job requisition candidate pool. In order to progress with this candidate an “invite to apply” message is sent by the recruiter to the candidate to inform him that he is welcome to apply for the specific job req. However with the feature “late stage application” a candidate that is forwarded, can be added to the job requisition directly by the recruiter, without having him actually apply.
  • There is a difference between a candidate being forwarded and being added by a recruiter. When forwarded, the candidate is still not an applicant, while if it is added using the “Add to the job requisition” button, the candidate becomes a real applicant, even if he/she did not actually fill the application form. A warning is shown when a candidate has been added to a job but has not yet applied for it.
  • A late stage applicant can be hired without any need for him/her to actually apply. However it is best practice to request the candidate to apply. This can be done configuring the “Invite Late Stage Applicant” action. This action must be configured in the job requisition template per role and per status (all statuses where this action can be used must be configured). This action is similar to the “Invite to Apply” action, but it’s for candidates already added to the application (thanks to the “late stage application” feature).

Note: the candidate cannot fill any field without to apply the position before, as alternative this should be done by the recruiter.
