2080860 - Workflow Subject of MDF Data Change - Employee Central

  • Important behavior to note in the behavior of when MDF data change is sent through a workflow.
  • When utilising MDF workflow functionality and using role types, how are the role types in the workflow derived when the workflow is launched?

  • Employee Central

  • When working on MDF data it is the user making changes or entering data on the object who is the subject of the workflow and it will be his or her job relationships that the workflow goes to for approval. E.g. his or her Manager or HR Manager
  • Likewise if you have a user field within the MDF Object this will NOT be the subject for workflow purposes. E.g. if you have created an Asset MDF Object to record the company assets given to an individual employee it is not the employee whom is the workflow subject it is the user who has made the data changes whom is the workflow subject.
