2076822 - Bonus - Bonus Plan - Variable Pay

Symptom

  • Managing the Bonus Plan data. Bonus Plan Import (required) – this flat file contains the bonus plan definition.

  • What is the format for the bonus plan import?

Environment

  • Variable Pay.

Resolution

  • Bonus plans define the weighting of the business, individual and/or team goals used to calculate incentive payments.

  • Note! The bonus plans file is generally created and imported during the initial implementation and does not need to be reimported unless there is a change to the bonus plans included in the program.

  • Bonus plans file is imported into SuccessFactors at: Admin Tools > Compensation Home > Select correct plan > Plan Setup > Plan Details > 2. Import Bonus Plans. It is also possible to create/edit bonus plans directly in the Admin Tools user interface. Bonus plans must be set up prior to calculating bonus payouts.

Bonus Plan Import File Format

Assumptions on file format:

  • The import file should be a CSV text file: comma-delimited, with string values enclosed in double quotes. The file can be named anything you wish (but should have a .csv extension).

  • The first record is designated as the system header for the field.

  • The second record is designated as a descriptor for this field.  This descriptor can contain customer specific information regarding the field.

  • No currency symbol in front of amounts.

  • No commas allowed in amounts.

  • All percentages should be imported in decimal format (i.e. 10% = .10)
