1974251 - Error Message : Accounting period closed; contact accounting department

When the service agent is trying to release the time sheet against an intercompany project the system throws an error message as Accounting Period Closed; Contact Accounting Department.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Home work center.
2. Choose the Self-Services view.
3. Choose the Self-Services Overview.
4. Choose Edit Time Sheet link.
5. Here try to record the time against the project.
6. Choose Save button.
7. Choose Release --> All button now system throws an error message as Accounting Period Closed; Contact Accounting Department.

OR

1. Go to Project Team work center.
2. Choose the Edit Time Sheet view under Common tasks.
3. Here try to record the time against the project.
4. Choose Save button.
5. Choose Release --> All button now system throws an error message as Accounting Period Closed; Contact Accounting Department.

The Entry Possible Until validity is expired for the company the service agent belong to, hence the system will not allow to do any posting in accounting for that period, it throws an error message as Accounting Period Closed; Contact Accounting Department. please contact your Admin to do required changes.

1. Go to General Ledger Work center.
2. Go to View 'Company'.
3. Select the company, set of book combination and perform the action 'Set Process Control'.
4. On the new window Add a new record for the particular period and enter a new Entry Possible Unit date which is a valid date when you want to allow the service agent to do time recording against project.
5. Once the new record is created, ask the service agent to do time recording against project for that period.

>>Please note, it is important to have a GSA (Goods and Service Confirmation) entry maintained in Set Process Control along with Time or Service Confirmation, to allow these postings to be successfully released for Service Agents.
