1966385 - Dump and Analytics functions not Working after Log-on with a specific User


You log-on to ByDesign and notice that a Dump occurs after the Home work center is loaded.

When you try to use any Analytics functions you also notice that are not working as expected. For example, when you try to open a report only a blank page is shown.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Access the ByD system with the User XYZ.
  2. After the Home work center screen is loaded a Dump occurs. In this case with the below details:
    • SAP.BYD.LS.UI.ExtensionLoader.Extensions.ExtensionLoadingException: Unable to load extension from xrep:///SAP_BYD_TF/Analytics/AnalysisPattern/sapLSUI AnalyticsReportingUI.xap

  3. Although you can still use the system some functionalities are not working. For example, when you open a browser report a blank page is shown instead.
  4. The issue occurs only with your User on your PC and either with IE or Firefox however the issue doesn't occur if another User logs into ByDesign from your PC.


The issue is caused by corrupted or outdated Silverlight file (.XAP) in the local system for the User.


You can solve such issue by clearing the Silverlight application cache as following:

  1. From the ByDesign system Right click and select Silverlight
  2. Select the Application Storage tab from the Silverlight pop up.
  3. Click on Delete All then OK.
  4. Logout the system and Log in again and the issue should be solved.
