1961514 - Error Message "Instance with the same key already exists" While Migrating Account Hierarchy

Symptom

When try to migrate the Account Hierarchy, system throws below error message:

Instance with the same key already exists

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Go to Overview
  3. Show All Activities and find the activity Migration of Account Hierarchies
  4. Select Open
  5. Select Migrate customer hierarchies using the migration tool
  6. Select the file with migration mode : Add new records and Execute Migration->Execute Migration Step by Step
  7. In the Simulation step we see the errors:

        Instance with the same key already exists

Cause

Probable causes could be one of the below :

  1. There is already an Account Hierarchy existing in your system with same ID and hence it is not possible create another hierarchy for the same combination. This can be verified in the Account Hierarchy view of Business Partner Data    work center.
  2. Mapping was not correct when you would have migrated the Accounts in system using the Migration of Customers as different Source Values of Account ID's were mapped to same Target Value ID in the Convert Value Step.

Resolution

Verify the data in the migration template. Remove the inconsistent entries and proceed with the upload.
