You have a requirement to uncheck a particular parameter for some Accounts or remove a value and reset it to empty using Mass Change Account Data. But, the system is not allowing you to perform this particular action.
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Account Management work center.
- Select Common Tasks and choose Mass Change Account Data
- Select list of Accounts and select Add to Work list button.
Removing values (like unchecking flags and clearing text entries) is not supported in the mass change of Accounts and will remain a limitation due to technical constraints.
Problem is that the mass change row comes with empty content and by that recognizes a flag being set from false to true as a change - keeping a flag false or setting it from false to true and again to false is not recognized.
Hence, this functionality is not available in current release and will be considered for one of the future release but cannot promise availability at a certain due date
In the meantime, the only workaround is to deselect the values in the checkboxes or remove the value line by line in the mass change screen.
Nullifying a value is not possible even through Migration (Enhance Existing Records) and Mass Data maintenance.
